2023 Inflation support measures
In February 2023, the Danish government officially set aside DKK 2.4 billion to support consumers in the high energy price context through several measures. The support package includes:
- Financial allowance for pensioners and financially vulnerable families with children,
- Postponement of tax payment deadlines for companies to support their liquidity during high energy costs,
- Support for energy-exposed food stores in small towns,
- Support for vulnerable energy-intensive cultural institutions including energy efficiency improvements,
- Increase in the standard tax deduction for child day-care providers,
- One-off allowance for disability benefit recipients and single parents,
- Extra subsidies for citizens with high medical expenses,
- Grants for civil society organisations to help with high prices,
- Subsidies for households replacing gas boilers by connection to district heating network,
- Extraordinary rent reductions in social housing for vulnerable tenants.
