IEA at COP28: Ensuring equity, inclusion and fairness in energy transitions

To successfully deliver on their energy transition goals, governments need to ensure their policies are both inclusive and deliver widespread benefits to the entire population. This event will explore ways to integrate inclusion and fairness in clean energy policies and programmes to ensure a people-centred clean energy transition that does not leave anyone behind. It will draw on best practice case studies from around the world of clean energy policies and programmes that have led to positive equity outcomes, including jobs and skills development strategies, policies designed to increase energy access in remote areas and programmes to increase affordability for vulnerable populations. It will include a focus on inclusive energy projects targeted at youth and indigenous populations.
