World Energy Outlook 2023 Free Dataset
Includes world aggregated data for all three modelled scenarios (STEPS, APS, NZE) and selected data for key regions and countries for 2030, 2035, 2040 and 2050, as well as historical data (2010, 2021, 2022).
The WEO-2023 Free Dataset includes world aggregated data for all three modelled scenarios (STEPS, APS, NZE) and selected data for key regions and countries for 2030, 2035, 2040 and 2050, as well as historical data (2010, 2021, 2022).
Access to this dataset is free of charge for non-commercial usage.
Commercial usage: If you wish to use the Free Dataset for commercial purposes or use or distribute your derived material for commercial purposes, please contact compliance@iea.org.
In addition to the Free Dataset, the IEA offers an Extended Dataset, which includes more detailed information at regional and country-level for APS and STEPS (including detailed energy balance, electrical capacity, electricity generation, CO2 emission by region, economic and activity indicators, etc.) across projected years (2030, 2035, 2040, 2045, 2050) as well as historical data (2010, 2015, 2021, 2022).
The World and Advanced economies aggregate (ADVECO) also includes the NZE Scenario.
The Extended Dataset also includes WEO-2023 chapter figures, investment, trade and power sector capacity addition and retirement, fossil fuel prices, refining capacity and runs, power generation technology costs and assumptions and air pollution data.
Tables for Scenario Projections
This annex includes global historical and projected data by scenario for the following four datasets : energy supply, total final consumption, electricity sector: gross electricity generation and electrical capacity, CO₂ emissions: carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from fossil fuel combustion and industrial processes.
